What we did
To resolve this inefficiency, SPD Electric Corp performed a custom evaporator control panel installation Baldwin Park. We installed new control systems designed to manage power and operating modes for both units. Our team configured the evaporators in a lead-lag arrangement. Under this setup, one unit operates as the primary cooling source while the second unit stages on only as needed, which is structured to balance runtime and extend the overall equipment life.
Because the freezer contained stored goods, we had to perform the electrical work inside the freezer with the doors closed to maintain the required operating temperatures. To prevent product loss and avoid a full system shutdown, we worked on only one evaporator at a time. This allowed continuous cooling to remain active while we completed the wiring and control panel upgrades safely.
The result
The new lead-lag control panel now manages the freezer’s cooling demands efficiently. This configuration is built to reduce electrical consumption and balance equipment runtime. All work was performed by our own employees and is covered by our standard 2-year workmanship warranty.
